Ethics

Discretion, alignment, a refusal of the showy

◇

Five simple rules, and what they cost us.

The client pays, the future judges

A building lasts longer than a contract, a website longer than a campaign. We work for the use that will come afterwards as much as for the order of the moment. Sometimes that means advising against what we have been asked to do.

A refusal is worth more than an accommodating yes

We turn down projects we would not know how to carry out properly, and those whose purpose does not suit us. A lost piece of business can be made up, a signature you do not believe in is paid for over the whole life of the project.

What is already in place is there for a reason

Faced with old building fabric, a tree, an organisation that works, we assume that what has held has a reason to have held. You may decide to change it, but only after understanding it, never out of ignorance.

Discretion is not negotiable

No client is named, no property is shown without written consent, no information is carried from one file to another. It is the condition on which we are entrusted with these properties, and it admits no commercial exception.

Silence is an answer

We do not justify ourselves. When a project is not for us, we say so plainly, without impugning anyone’s motives. When a debate adds nothing, we let it pass.
